Favorite verses in the Quran
Here are my 5 favorite verses in the Quran:-
1)"... And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows, you don't know it." (2:216)
I really really love this verse. It's true that sometimes He gives you something that you don't like but it's actually something that is good for you. I knew this verse when I was 18 year-old. I remember that it was the moment where I felt really sad for not getting into Law school. I got Masscomm instead. I really hated Masscomm back then. I even quetioned God's decision for putting me in this course. But now I slowly accept my fate. Maybe He puts me in this course for some reasons. But I don't know what the reasons are because He, al-Alim (the all-knowing one) knows what's best. He is the best planner. I never know what will happen if I got accepted into Law school. So, don't ever question Him for not getting what you want because He knows what's best for you.
2) Don't be sad. Allah is with you. (9:40)
Here's another one of my favorite verses. Whenever I feel sad, down and hopeless, I always remember that God is always with me. People leave but He will never leave us. Sometimes in life we go through bad times and we have no one to talk to. There are times when we deal with something that no one will understand but He does. Bear in mind He is always with us. Whatever things you are dealing with, turn to Him because He will always listen to you. This verse is so wonderful. It's like Allah is trying to comfort you to not be sad. He makes you feel like you're not alone in this journey because Allah will always be there for you. So, don't be sad.
3) If you're grateful, I will surely increase in favour... (14:7)
This verse reminds me to always be grateful. There is a few times I disatisfied with my exam results because it was bad. I also complaint to Him for not getting results that I want even though it was quite good. Human are never satisfied with what has been given. They always feel that it's insufficient and they want more. I feel bad for not being grateful. The amount of effort that I put is equal to what I get. Instead of thinking it's not good, I should be thankful no matter how bad/good it is. Maybe if I'm grateful for what has been given, Allah will give me more next time. Be thankful because He will surely increase!
4) With hardships come ease. (94:6)
The verse is repeated twice in this surah. This shows that Allah emphasizes every trial and difficulties will come ease. Since I'm not a bright student, I always feel like giving up on my studies. I think of quiting Masscomm so many times because I can't do it anymore. I hate all the deadlines, coursework and practical things. But this verse reminds me that every single thing I deal with, comes ease. I'm gonna survive in the end. So, I will recite this surah before I start studying and also before I start my exams because it's really helpful.
5) Guide us to the right path. (1:6)
I think this is so important. We recite this surah 5 times daily in our prayers. It is important to ask him to lead us to the right path. He is the turner of the hearts. Trust me, I'm not a good or even pious person. He can turn my heart whenever He wants. That's why it's important to seek His guidance because we never know if one day He tests us by turning our heart naauzubillah.
